STONES AS GIFTS OF MOTHER EARTH

Whether or not one believes in birthstones or symbolism, one should consider that all forms are a result of an action, and believe that every action brings about a result.  Every form has a reason to be and so is a “performer” in this existence and chain of “co-incidences”.  Believing supports our visionary being and so strengthens us as such, giving every adorning, accessory or clothing meaning.  It provides a tool for the never-ending research deep within us and in association with our outer world.

And when one has found one’s self, it is the parading of the substance that invents jewelry .  It is indeed wearing one’s self!

THE DISCOVERY OF VOLCANIC STONE

The word “active energy” is so fashionable that it is often used without much thought about it’s function or origin.  In Bali I was invited to a birthday party in a paradise-like valley complete with a trickling stream.  We entered a house reminiscent of old Balinese architecture, which opened out to a green so rich it could have rejuvenated a tired mind. 

There was a table with gifts, and a tray of little black stones, some wrapped in nice cloth.  I noticed that they were wet and thought they just washed them off dirt.  But I was explained that these volcanic stones spewed by Mt. Agung in 1963 were found on the beach, in rivers or the sea and “carried” the energy of the earth of which when wet by salt water and then put in the sun to absorb the warmth, would “re-load” themselves.

These little stones turned into a valuable resource for me, wearing them offered a portable “generator”.  It added to my vision of portable art.  What a perfect gift!
